Establishing a Good Contact Lens Fit at Kartesz Eye Care

It starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up-to-date prescription and rule out any pre-existing conditions that could interfere with contact lens wear.

Fitting lenses to your lifestyle
We will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs and the shape and health of your eyes. In most cases, you’ll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You may even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.

Follow up fittings
Our Roanoke team will follow up after the initial fitting and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible result. We teach all our patients proper contact lens care and also possible consequences if proper care is not taken. Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses and to ensure that proper hygiene is being maintained.

Our Contact Lens Services:

  • A silver, metallic box containing contact lenses
We carry all of the top contact lens brands!
  • Woman Contact Lens
Disposable contact lenses are generally considered to be far superior in comfort and wearability than hard and rigid lenses.
  • Acuvue Oasys with Transitions
The first-of-its-kind contact lens built with Transitions™ Light Intelligent Technology™ that seamlessly adapts to light to provide all-day soothing vision.
  • A friendly male optometrist with glasses is looking at a smiling young girl in a plaid shirt as he performs an eye exam
A routine exam won’t provide some of the measurements and testing that are required to determine if your eyes are suitable for contact lens wear, and to generate your contact lens Rx.
  • A pair of hands with painted nails holds a white smartphone
Fortunately for those who don’t like the look, feel or inconvenience of reading glasses, there is another option. Bifocal and multifocal lenses are also available in contact lenses in both soft and rigid varieties.
  • Teen Boy Contact Lens
These rigid lenses aren’t as popular or well-known as soft lenses, but they offer the advantages of durability, crisp vision and high oxygen permeability.
  • Woman Putting in Contact
Challenges such as astigmatism, presbyopia, keratoconus and dry eyes needn’t be a barrier to contact lens wear, but they do require more time and patience.
  • Close-up portrait of a senior man with a beard and wrinkled eye, suggesting signs of aging and the need for eye care.
“I can’t wear soft contacts; I have astigmatism.” This once-true statement is now simply a myth.
  • A close-up of a blonde woman with blue-green eyes, using her finger to insert a contact lens.
Never use any substance other than contact lens rinse or solution to clean contacts (even tap water is a no-no).
  • A still-life of contact lens accessories, including a white contact lens case
Contact lens overuse is an increasingly common eye condition that has significant potential to do serious damage to your eyes.
