Dr. Andrew Kartesz
Dr. Kartesz was born in West Virginia and raised in Ludlow, a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Kane High School in 1991 and continued his education at Penn State University, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 with a degree in Biology. From there his schooling took him to Memphis, TN, where he spent four years and graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 1999.
Jordan helps all patients get ready for their visit with the doctor. She will guide you through any additional tasks or medical testing when needed. She will also assist you with contact lens. When she is not working, she is spending time with her family. She hopes to see you soon.
William has worked at Rocky Mount Family Eye Care for the last 13 years, the last ten of which he has worked for Dr. Kartesz. William has been a licensed optician for twenty years. He is responsible for verifying prescriptions to make sure they are what the doctor has prescribed. He helps patients with their frames and lens selections, as well as making adjustments and doing repairs on eyeglasses. William and his wife Mary (also a licensed Optician) enjoy taking their grandchildren with them on their camping trips. They may need a bigger camper before long. William and Mary have eight grand kids now! William enjoys doing woodworking, fishing, camping and is a big fan of drag racing. GO STEELERS!
Robin is the manager of our Rocky Mount Family Eyecare practice. As a licensed optician with
35 years experience, she enjoys working with patients and all aspects of our optical practice. Robin is also an independent contractor with Harris Co., formerly known as Itt Night Vision. She is an on site optician ordering, fitting and dispensing safety glasses. Robin enjoys working with our patients. She feels her mission is to educate patients on what is available to them and what best meets their needs.
Robin lives in Roanoke with her two dogs names Meko and Cody. She spends her time with her best friends and her mom and enjoys traveling, reading and the sun. She would enjoy seeing you in our office soon and would be happy to answer all of your optical questions.
Niki works in our front office. In addition to checking patients in and out, she answers the phones, makes our appointments, and manages the files. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to insurance plans and how they work. Niki is a “people” person and enjoys interacting with patients and co-workers. She is a valuable asset to the office and is excited to be a part of Rocky Mount Family Eyecare Center.
Laura works in our optical department as a dispensing optician. She also assists our eye doctors in fitting of contact lenses. Born and lived in the Roanoke area all her life, she has worked in the optical industry since 1986. She is married to Steve Potter. They have two beautiful shih tzus names Sophia and Coco. Laura finds her mission helping people feel and look great in their new eyewear. In her free time, Steve and Laura enjoy walking, spending time with family and friends, and riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Stephany was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia 3 years ago to be closer to her mother. She is the mother of 2 boys and has 3 granddaughters. Stephany has been in the Optical business since 1992. Stephany is in charge of insurances. She is an assistant youth Pastor at the Assembly of God Church and is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan! In her spare time she enjoys watching football, visiting with family and friends, reading and baking.
Connie is a licensed optician. She has worked at this office for over 35 years. She has two children and 6 grandchildren. Connie and her husband love to travel.
Robin has worked at this office since October
1975 for Dr. J. B. Rapoport. In the spring of
2003 the office was acquired by Dr. Andrew C.
Kartesz. Robin has been a licensed optician
with the state of Virginia since 1978. She is
married to Eric Thomas, a local real estate
broker, and has two children, Erica and Brad.
She was born in Roanoke and has always
called this valley home, only visiting other
areas of the country. Robin's job includes
waiting on patients for their eye glass frame
selections and advising of the different lenses,
materials, and finishes that best meet their
needs for work and play. She is also involved
in the making of the glasses, helping contact
patients, and running different tests that patients may need before seeing the eye doctor. She looks forward to seeing our past and future patients.
Dr. Kartesz moved back to his hometown and worked for a private practice optometrist from 1999-2003. Dr. Kartesz moved to Roanoke in 2003 when he purchased the Roanoke Peters Creek Road practice. In 2006, he purchased the Rocky Mount practice from optometry school friends. He continues to enjoy all of the new and established patients he gets to help each week.
His hobbies include hunting, fishing and golf. He is an avid bass fisherman, having been sponsored by Anglers Choice and Ranger Boats for the past ten years.
Dr. Neysa A. Allen
Southwest Virginia is home to Dr. Neysa
Allen. Dr. Allen grew up in Franklin
County and graduated from Mary Baldwin
College in Staunton with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Biology. After receiving
her Doctorate of Optometry from the
University of Alabama at Birmingham
School of Optometry, she wanted to
return to the Southwest Virginia to
provide its residents with friendly
progressive eye care.

Gina is native of Ashville, NC. She moved to the Rocky Mount area in 2012 with her husband and two beautiful children. Gina joined Rocky Mount Family Eyecare in 2015 with a background in customer service and nursing care. She takes care of our Rocky Mount patients. She works in the front and and pre-test for our doctors.
Dori joined the Rocky Mount practice in 2013 with twenty years experience in physical therapy and nine in education. With professionalism and an easy going personality, she instantly puts patients at ease as she guides them through their medical testing or contact lens training.
Dori is family oriented, fun-loving and enjoys nature, especially horses.
Dr. Stewart graduated from Virginia Tech in
1997 with Bachelor of Science degree in biology and received her Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2002. In 2004, Dr. Stewart began fulfilling the eye care needs of the Roanoke Valley with an emphasis in Pediatric care.
She enjoys spending time with her family and is passionate about nutrition and its affects on overall health.
After meeting and talking with Dr. Angela Stewart, it is easy to see why Our Health Magazine has honored her with accolades for the best bedside manner three years in a row. With a compassion for people and a mission to enhance patients lives through comprehensive eye care, she ensures that all patients have a thorough explanation of their exam.

Dr. Allen has practiced primary care
optometry in the Roanoke Valley for
over twenty years and actively
participates in the post-operative care of her cataract and LASIK patients. Having served as Clinical Director at TLC Roanoke, Dr. Allen is a certified LASIK consultant and continues her interest in refractive surgery. She is dedicated to providing her patients with exemplary care and is delighted to be a part of the Kartesz team.
Presently, Dr. Allen is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and her local optometric society. She attends Sandy Ridge Baptist Church in Rocky Mount and enjoys working-out, traveling with her husband Lewis, and being in the kitchen.
